John Robbins, Owner, Robbins Fitness
I’m passionate about fitness and health. Foundation Training is my main emphasis. This training is all about moving well – reversing the effects of sitting and waking up your primary “mover” muscles – glutes, hamstrings and the rest of the posterior chain. It’s also about correcting muscle imbalance and restoring the correct balance between Tension & Stability.
Many people have lost the ability to move correctly. Foundation Training retrains your muscles to move like your body is supposed to. This takes the strain off your back and joints – thus back pain slowly disappears. Same for other pains such as Hip and Knee pain.
Once your moving correctly and pain free, that’s where kettlebells come in. Build strength and burn fat by doing the main Kettlebell (KB) movements – The Swing, Military Press, Goblet Squat and the Turkish Getup.
I am a Certified Level 1 Foundation Training Instructor, attending my certification course in June, 2014 at Park City, Utah. I have attended StrongFirst Kettlebell and Barbell User Courses in 2015/2016 respectively with Master Instructor Phil Scarito.
Scheduled for Kettlebell Instructor SFG I Certification in April, 2017 in Chicago. Also, will be attending the SF Bodyweight training user course in July, 2017 (Kathy Smith will be the instructor, awesome!).
